Hollins Cross Overlooking Edale

Overview Bath to Edale

The original intention was to stay on the Cotswold Way for the most part of four days, then branch off to Gloucester via the Isis Way (following Mark Moxon's route from Bath to Gloucester). After a toe injury needed 'nursing' to recovery at Cam we opted for an easier route via Shepherd's Patch and the Canal tow path to Gloucester. From Gloucester we followed the Severn Way to just beyond Bewdley then turned to trend North East along the North Worcester Path then over Kinver Edge to Kinver. After Kinver we followed the Staffordshire & Worcester Canal most of the way to Himley (driven by available accommodation). We then followed a path along a disused railway through Wombourne, then the Monarch's Way and Staffordshire Way, shortcutting the Staffordshire Way between Brewood and Penkridge by taking lanes and minor roads before rejoining the Staffordshire Way to the Limestone Way (with diversions for B&B's near Great Haywood, then Middle Mayfield)  to Coldwell Bridge (near Thorpe). Then we followed Dales through the Peak District to Edale. Click the link to open the Edale to Jedburgh walk section.
